Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, fully incorporating each before adding the next.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.

Mixing Batter

  • In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour and baking powder.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture, alternating with milk, folding gently until just combined.
  • Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans and smooth the tops.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Decoration

  • Once cooled, layer the cakes and decorate with gold pearl sprinkles and optional edible glitter.
