Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 8 oz bowtie pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef can substitute with ground turkey or lentils
  • 1 cup Velveeta cheese, cubed
  • 1 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preparation

  • Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil.
  • Stir in the bowtie pasta and cook until tender yet al dente, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add in the diced tomatoes, beef broth, garlic powder, onion powder, and seasoning with salt and pepper. Stir well.

Cooking

  • Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer for 5 to 7 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  • Reduce heat and stir in the Velveeta cheese cubes until they melt completely, creating a creamy sauce.

Combining

  • Add the cooked bowtie pasta to the skillet and gently stir to coat each piece with the cheese sauce.

Serving

  • Serve hot, garnished with freshly chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

This dish can be enhanced with cooked spinach or mushrooms. For a lighter option, substitute ground beef with shredded chicken. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
