Preparation

  • Cream together softened butter and granulated sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract, blending until all ingredients are well combined.
  • Gradually mix in the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt until a dough forms.
  • Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour.

Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Use heart-shaped cookie cutters to cut out cookies and place them on parchment-lined baking sheets.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until edges are golden and tops are set.

Decoration

  • Let the cookies cool before decorating.
  • Decorate with icing and colorful sprinkles as desired.

Notes
