Cake Ingredients

  • 2 sticks Butter, softened Should be ultra-creamy
  • 1 cup Sugar Mix until light and fluffy
  • 4 pieces Eggs Add one at a time
  • 1.25 cups All-purpose flour Sift and fold until just combined
  • 12 ounces Bittersweet chocolate Melt until smooth

Ganache Ingredients

  • 1 cup Heavy cream Heat until just about to boil
  • 8 ounces Dark chocolate Pour cream over and whisk until smooth

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Soften two sticks of butter until creamy and airy.
  • Mix in one cup of sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Gradually add four eggs, one by one, stirring to combine thoroughly.
  • Sift and fold in one cup and two tablespoons of flour until just incorporated.

Baking

  • Melt twelve ounces of bittersweet chocolate until smooth and glossy.
  • Cool the chocolate slightly and fold it into the batter.
  • Prepare your baking pan with parchment paper before pouring in the batter.
  • Bake at 350°F for about twenty-five minutes until the top is set.
  • Let the cake cool on a wire rack before frosting.

Ganache Preparation

  • Heat one cup of heavy cream until just about to boil.
  • Pour over eight ounces of dark chocolate and allow to sit for a few minutes.
  • Whisk until smooth and let it drizzle over the cooled cake.
