  • 3 cups heavy whipping cream For frosting.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 9-inch round cake pans with baking spray.
  • In a large bowl, combine flour and baking powder, mixing until well incorporated.
  • In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in vanilla extract and buttermilk until the batter is smooth.

Baking

  • Pour the batter evenly into prepared pans and smooth the tops.
  • Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Frosting and Decoration

  • Whip the heavy cream and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  • Once the cakes are completely cooled, frost the top layer and stack the second layer on top.
  • Frost the entire cake and decorate with fresh fruits.
