Ingredients
  

For the filling

  • 2 cups milk Use high-quality milk for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream Whipped until soft peaks form.

For the biscuit base

  • 1 cup crushed tea biscuits Can substitute with gingersnap cookies for a spiced flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Pour two cups of milk into a saucepan over medium heat and gently toast it, stirring occasionally.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together one cup of sugar, two tablespoons of cornstarch, and a quarter teaspoon of salt.
  • When the milk turns golden brown and fragrant, pour it into the sugar mixture while whisking vigorously.
  • Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium heat until it thickens to a custard-like consistency, stirring continuously.
  • Remove from heat and stir in one tablespoon of vanilla extract. Allow to cool completely.
  • In a separate bowl, whip one cup of heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  • Once the milk mixture has cooled, gently fold in the whipped cream until smooth.

Biscuit Base Preparation

  • In another bowl, mix one cup of crushed tea biscuits with two tablespoons of melted butter. Press this mixture into the bottom of your serving dish.

Assembly and Chilling

  • Pour the creamy filling over the biscuit base and spread it evenly. Cover with plastic wrap.
  • Chill in the refrigerator for several hours until set.
  • Once set, slice into portions and serve.

Notes

Let the toasted milk cool completely before mixing with whipped cream for ideal texture. Consider infusing the milk with spices for added flavor.
