Ingredients

For the cocktail

  • 2 ounces one hundred percent apple cider Use fresh apple cider if possible.
  • 2 ounces pear juice Fresh pear juice is recommended.
  • 1.5 ounces gold tequila
  • 1 ounce Grand Marnier or orange liqueur Orange liqueur can be substituted.
  • salt for the glass rim A quarter-inch layer to coat the glass.
  • 1 wedge lime For juicing and coating the glass.
  • ice as needed To fill the glass and shaker.
  • 1-2 sticks cinnamon For garnish.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Pour a quarter-inch layer of salt onto a small plate.
  • Run a lime wedge along the rim of your cocktail glass to coat it with juice.
  • Turn the glass upside down and gently press the rim into the salt to adhere.
  • Scoop ice into the glass until it is about three-quarters full.
  • Squeeze the remaining lime wedge over the ice to release its aroma.

Mixing

  • In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine the apple cider, pear juice, gold tequila, and orange liqueur.
  • Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for about fifteen seconds.

Serving

  • Strain the mixture into your prepared glass over the ice.
  • Drop in a whole cinnamon stick to steep in the drink for added flavor.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

If the drink is too sweet, adjust the ratio of apple cider and pear juice. A splash of fresh lime juice can add acidity. For a non-alcoholic version, replace tequila and liqueur with sparkling water.
