Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground beef (preferred 80/20 for juiciness)
  • 1 cup Shredded Swiss cheese Use high-quality cheese for better melting.
  • 1 cup Cooked bacon, chopped into bite-sized pieces Cook until crispy.
  • 1 cup Mushrooms, sliced and sautéed until browned Sauté in bacon fat for added flavor.
  • 1 small Onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 0.5 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish, if desired

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or use a loaf pan for easy cleanup.
  • Cook the bacon until crispy, then remove and set aside, keeping the bacon fat in the pan.
  • Sauté the sliced mushrooms in the bacon fat until golden brown and fragrant.

Mixing Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, eggs, breadcrumbs, diced onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  • Gently mix in half of the shredded Swiss cheese.
  • Shape the meat mixture into a loaf on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Press the remaining cheese, sautéed mushrooms, and crispy bacon on top of the loaf.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  • Allow the meatloaf to rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Using ground beef with a higher fat content will yield juicier results. Feel free to experiment with cheese and add herbs for more flavor. Let the loaf rest before slicing for best results.
