Ingredients
  

For the sauce

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey Can be substituted with agave nectar for a vegan option.
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger

For the chicken

  • 1 pound chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces Can substitute with extra-firm tofu for a vegetarian option.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil Used for cooking the chicken.

For serving

  • 2 cups cooked rice Can use brown rice for a heartier option.
  • to taste green onions, chopped For garnish.
  • to taste sesame seeds, toasted For garnish.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create the sauce.
  • Heat sesame oil in a pan over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  • Add bite-sized chicken pieces and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
  • Once cooked, pour the prepared sauce over the chicken and stir until fully coated.
  • Let simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Prepare the cooked rice in your preferred method.

Serving

  • Spoon the sticky chicken over the rice and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

If sauce doesn’t thicken, simmer longer or add a cornstarch slurry. This dish can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
