Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cans green beans, drained Fresh or frozen green beans can be used for better flavor.
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup Can be substituted with homemade soup for enhanced flavor.
  • 0.5 cup milk For a lighter option, substitute with Greek yogurt and vegetable broth.
  • 1 cup French fried onions For a kick, consider adding grated cheese or cayenne pepper before baking.
  • to taste salt and pepper Adjust according to personal preference.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper. Stir until well blended.
  • Pour the mixture into a baking dish. Top it with the French fried onions.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until heated through and the onions are golden brown.
  • If using, add grated cheese before the final bake for additional flavor.

Notes

Let the casserole rest after baking if it seems too thin; it thickens as it cools. For leftovers, whisk in additional milk if too thick before serving. Can be frozen for up to three months, but the crispy topping may lose texture.
