  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Mix-ins

  • 2 cups chocolate chips Feel free to substitute with dark chocolate or other flavored chips.
  • Royal icing For decoration, add color as desired.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, and salt, then set aside.
  • In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs and vanilla extract to the mixture and mix until well incorporated.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Stir in chocolate chips.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto baking sheets, spacing them apart.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Decoration

  • Once completely cooled, decorate using royal icing to create football designs.
