  • a few drops green food coloring Adjust for preferred shade.

Decorative Ingredients

  • powdered sugar for decoration Generously dust once cooled.
  • royal icing for decoration Optional for additional design.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a small bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, almond extract, and green food coloring until well combined.
  • Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  • Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and place on ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Flatten each ball slightly.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, until golden.
  • Let them cool before decorating.

Decoration

  • Decorate the cooled cookies with powdered sugar or royal icing.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week or in the fridge for two weeks. For longer storage, freeze in an airtight container for up to three months.
