  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds warmth to the mixture
  • 1 cup powdered sugar For coating the puppy chow
  • as needed food coloring Use midnight green, black, and white to match team colors

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Measure out five cups of Chex cereal into a large bowl.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine one cup of chocolate chips, half a cup of peanut butter, and a quarter cup of butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until chocolate is melted and smooth.
  • Stir in one teaspoon of vanilla extract into the melted mixture.
  • Pour the chocolate mixture over the Chex cereal, and use a spatula to mix until all pieces are coated.

Coating

  • In a separate bag or bowl, mix one cup of powdered sugar with food coloring.
  • Add the chocolate-coated Chex to the powdered sugar mixture and shake until evenly coated.

Cooling and Serving

  • Spread the puppy chow on a baking sheet to cool and allow flavors to meld.
  • Once cool, serve in themed containers for game day.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to five days. For longer storage, refrigerate for up to two weeks, or freeze for three months.
