  • 1 package OREO cookies Approximately thirty-six cookies
  • 8 oz cream cheese Softened
  • 16 oz melting chocolate About two and three-quarters cups

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Process one full package of OREO cookies in a food processor until finely crushed.
  • Transfer the OREO crumbs into a large mixing bowl.
  • Incorporate the softened cream cheese into the OREO crumbs and mix until well combined.
  • Roll the mixture into small balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Chill the cake balls in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or 15-20 minutes in the freezer.

Dipping

  • Melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each until smooth.
  • Coat each chilled cake ball in melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off.
  • Place the coated cake balls back on the parchment-lined tray and decorate with sprinkles or crushed Oreos.
  • Return the decorated cake balls to the refrigerator to set the chocolate for 15-30 minutes.

Notes

For optimal flavor, let the cake balls sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes before serving. If they are to be frozen, ensure they are well-wrapped to prevent freezer burn.
