Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 36 cookies Oreo cookies About one and a half cups crumbs
  • 8 oz full-fat cream cheese Softened
  • 8 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate Chopped or one cup of chocolate chips
  • 4 oz white chocolate Chopped, optional for swirl or dip
  • Sprinkles or crushed nuts Optional for garnish

Instructions

Preparation

  • Place thirty-six Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until they achieve fine crumbs.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the crumbs with eight ounces of softened cream cheese, blending until a sticky dough forms.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough and roll into smooth round spheres. Chill for about ten minutes if the dough sticks.
  • Place the rolled balls onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for twenty to thirty minutes.

Coating

  • Melt eight ounces of semi-sweet or dark chocolate over simmering water or in a microwave in twenty-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  • Dip each chilled ball into the melted chocolate, allowing excess chocolate to drip off before placing them back on parchment.
  • For decoration, drizzle melted white chocolate over the coated balls and sprinkle with toppings before the chocolate sets.

Finalization

  • Return the tray to the fridge for another fifteen to twenty minutes to let the chocolate coating solidify.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to five days or refrigerate for up to two weeks. They can also be frozen for up to three months.
