Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups pecan halves Toast briefly to enhance flavor if desired.

For the Crust

  • 1 piece pie crust Store-bought or homemade.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Place the pie crust in a nine-inch pie dish.

Making the Filling

  • In a large bowl, whisk together brown sugar and corn syrup until smooth.

  • Drizzle in melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir well to combine.
  • Fold in the pecan halves.

Baking

  • Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust.
  • Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, until the filling is set but jiggly in the center.
  • Allow the pie to cool on the counter before serving.

Notes

For a twist, try using maple syrup instead of corn syrup or incorporate chocolate chips for a chocolate pecan pie.
