Preparation

  • Allow the cream cheese to soften on the counter until it feels creamy to the touch.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the soft cream cheese and shredded cheddar, stirring until well mixed.
  • Add the bacon bits and Ranch seasoning, blending evenly.
  • If using green onions, fold them in gently.
  • Shape the mixture into a ball and wrap it tightly in plastic wrap.
  • Refrigerate for at least two hours to firm up.

Serving

  • Optionally roll the cheese ball in chopped nuts or herbs before serving.
  • Transfer the cheese ball to a serving platter.
  • Serve with crackers, celery sticks, or sliced veggies.

Notes

For a spicier version, add jalapeƱos or a dash of hot sauce. For festive flavors, consider honey-cranberries and walnuts.
