  • 2 cups granulated sugar sweet and delightful
  • 6 large eggs for richness
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract fragrant and warm
  • 1 cup whole milk creamy and smooth
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder to help the cake rise
  • 1 teaspoon salt to balance flavors

Frosting and Garnish

  • 3 cups buttercream frosting creamy and flavorful

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time to the butter mixture, blending well after each addition.
  • Mix in vanilla extract.
  • Gradually mix in dry ingredients alternating with milk until the batter is smooth.
  • Pour the batter evenly into two 9-inch round baking pans.

Baking

  • Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Frosting

  • Once the cakes are completely cool, frost with buttercream frosting and decorate with colorful sprinkles.

Notes

Store leftovers wrapped properly; it lasts up to 3 days at room temperature or a week in the fridge. For longer storage, freeze portions for up to 3 months.
