Preparation

  • Finely chop the chocolate into very small pieces to facilitate melting.
  • In a small saucepan, combine heavy cream, whole milk, and powdered sugar. Heat over medium-high, being careful not to boil.
  • Once the cream mixture is steaming, add the chopped chocolate. Stir gently using a whisk until melted and smooth.
  • If the chocolate does not melt smoothly, use an immersion blender or a milk frother.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract to enhance flavor.

Serving

  • Top with whipped cream or chocolate shavings and serve hot.

Notes
