Ingredients

For the Sliders

  • 8 pieces slider buns Use freshly baked buns for the best texture.
  • 1 pound roast beef Tender cuts like ribeye or loin roast are excellent choices.
  • 2 medium onions Thinly sliced, to be caramelized.
  • 6 ounces cheese Swiss, provolone, mozzarella or sharp cheddar.
  • 1 cup au jus For dipping.
  • to taste salt and pepper For seasoning.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Drizzle oil in a skillet over medium heat and add thinly sliced onions. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 20-25 minutes until caramelized.
  • Slice the slider buns in half and place the bottoms on a baking sheet.
  • Layer the sliced roast beef on the bottom halves of the buns.
  • Top the beef with the caramelized onions and cheese.

Baking

  • Press the top halves of the buns down gently and bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, until heated through and cheese is melted.

Notes

For added flavor, season roast beef with garlic powder and black pepper. Toasting buns slightly before assembly can prevent sogginess from au jus.
