Preparation

  • Gather all ingredients and cream together softened butter and granulated sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  • Incorporate eggs and vanilla extract into the mixture.
  • In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until a soft dough forms.
  • Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour.

Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Roll out the chilled dough to about 1/4 inch thick on a floured surface.
  • Use cookie cutters to create desired shapes and place them on baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
