Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 box white cake mix Approximately 3 cups in volume.
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon Kelly green gel food coloring Can use different colors for different occasions.

Sugar Coating

  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar For rolling the dough balls.
  • 6 tablespoons powdered sugar For rolling the dough balls.

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the white cake mix, eggs, and vegetable oil. Stir until a sticky dough forms.
  • Add the Kelly green gel food coloring and mix until the dough is evenly colored.
  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.

Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Prepare two small bowls: one with granulated sugar and the other with powdered sugar.
  • Using a tablespoon-sized cookie scoop, portion out the dough and roll each scoop into a ball.
  • First, roll each dough ball in the granulated sugar, then in the powdered sugar, ensuring they are fully coated.
  • Place the coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for about 9-12 minutes, until they appear slightly spread and the tops look crackled.
  • Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

To keep cookies fresh, store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. They can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
