Ingredients
  

Chicken and Marinade

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces Use fresh chicken for the best flavor.
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp black pepper Use freshly cracked for more flavor.
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch To thicken the sauce later.

Vegetables and Cooking

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine the chicken pieces, soy sauce, oyster sauce, black pepper, and cornstarch. Mix well and let marinate for 15-30 minutes.

Cooking

  • Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  • Add the marinated chicken to the pan and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  • Add the minced garlic, bell pepper, and onion to the pan. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  • Serve hot, garnished with green onions.

Notes

This dish pairs beautifully with jasmine rice or steamed broccoli. To elevate flavors, use freshly cracked black pepper and consider adding a teaspoon of sesame oil at the end.
