  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 packet gravy mix savory or mushroom flavor
  • 1 piece sliced onion
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce optional for umami flavor
  • to taste salt and pepper

Preparation

  • Place the boneless, skinless chicken breasts at the bottom of the crockpot.
  • In a bowl, combine the chicken broth and the packet of gravy mix, stirring to mix well.
  • Add the sliced onion, garlic powder, soy sauce, salt, and pepper to the mixture.
  • Pour the gravy mixture over the chicken breasts, ensuring they are covered.

Cooking

  • Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours.
  • Once cooked, shred the chicken in the gravy and serve over rice or mashed potatoes.

Notes

For a richer gravy, add a splash of cream at the end. You can also use pre-cooked rotisserie chicken to save time.
