Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cans canned French-style green beans Drained well
  • 6 slices bacon Cooked until crispy
  • 1/4 cup butter Melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar For sweetness
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Use low sodium if preferred
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  • In a skillet, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove it from the pan, let it cool, and crumble into bite-sized pieces.
  • Melt the butter in the same skillet, then add the brown sugar and stir to create a glossy syrup.
  • Stir in the soy sauce and garlic powder until well combined.
  • Add the drained green beans to the skillet and stir to coat evenly with the glaze.

Baking

  • Transfer the glazed green beans to a baking dish and scatter the crumbled bacon on top.
  • Drizzle any remaining sauce over the beans and bacon.
  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the foil, stir, and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the beans are tender and the bacon is crisp.

Serving

  • Remove from the oven and let the dish rest for a few moments before serving.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs if desired before serving.

Notes

If the beans are too sweet, a splash more soy sauce can be added to balance the flavors. You can also use fresh green beans for a crunchier texture.
