Dough Ingredients

  • 5 cups All-purpose flour Use fresh flour for best results
  • 2 cups Milk Warm to comfortable touch
  • 1 packet Yeast Active dry yeast
  • 1/3 cup Sugar For sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Enhances flavor
  • 3 large Eggs Room temperature
  • 1/2 cup Butter Melted

Filling Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Brown sugar For the sweet filling
  • 3 tablespoons Cinnamon Ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup Butter Softened for spreading

Icing Ingredients

  • 1 cup Cream cheese For icing
  • 1/2 cup Maple syrup For natural sweetness
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar For consistency in icing

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Warm the milk gently over low heat until comfortable to the touch.
  • Sprinkle yeast over the warm milk and let it bloom until frothy.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt thoroughly.
  • Pour the yeast mixture into the dry ingredients along with eggs and melted butter.
  • Mix until the dough begins to form into a cohesive ball.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface until silky and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled in size.

Filling and Rolling

  • Roll out the dough into a rectangle, approximately one inch thick.
  • Spread softened butter across the rectangle, then top with a mix of brown sugar and cinnamon.
  • Roll the dough into a log, slice into rolls, and place them in a greased baking dish to rise again.

Baking and Serving

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Bake until golden brown, about 25 to 30 minutes.
  • Prepare the icing by mixing cream cheese, maple syrup, and powdered sugar.
  • Once baked, glaze the warm rolls as soon as they come out of the oven.

Notes

Store your cinnamon rolls covered at room temperature for two days, or refrigerate for up to one week. Freeze for longer storage, and reheat after thawing.
