  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until frothy.
  • Add the vanilla extract and ground cinnamon to the mixture, stirring until well combined.
  • Submerge each slice of cinnamon swirl bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and grease lightly with butter or cooking spray.
  • Place the soaked slices onto the skillet and cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.

Serving

  • Serve warm, topped with maple syrup and a dusting of powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

For best results, use day-old bread to achieve a better texture. This dish can also incorporate apples grilled alongside or be customized with cream cheese for added richness.
