  • 2 cups white chocolate chips Use high-quality chocolate for best flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract Opt for premium brands for freshness.
  • a few drops green food coloring Adjust to achieve desired hue.
  • 1 cup crushed peppermint candies Can also use crushed candy canes.

Preparation

  • Gather all the necessary ingredients.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the white chocolate chips and melt in the microwave at 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
  • Stir in the peppermint extract and add a few drops of green food coloring.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and pour the melted chocolate mixture onto it, spreading evenly into a rectangle about ½ inch thick.
  • Before the chocolate sets, sprinkle the crushed peppermint candies evenly over the top.
  • Chill the baking tray in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes or until the chocolate is set.
  • Cut the set chocolate into squares or break it into irregular pieces.
  • Serve immediately or package for gifting.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks, or in the refrigerator for longer freshness.
