Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup fruit juice (your choice: cranberry, orange, or grape) Choose your favorite flavor
  • 2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin Adjust for desired firmness
  • 1 teaspoon corn syrup
  • Additional granulated sugar for coating

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by greasing a silicone mold or a glass dish with non-stick cooking spray or a light layer of oil.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and your selected fruit juice. Stir in the gelatin and corn syrup until no lumps remain.
  • Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring continuously until the sugar and gelatin dissolve completely, about 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Carefully pour the mixture into your prepared molds or glass dish, spreading evenly with a spatula.
  • Allow the mixture to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes, then transfer it to the refrigerator for at least an hour until fully set.
  • Once set, gently remove the gumdrops from the molds or cut into bite-sized squares if using a glass dish.
  • Roll each piece in granulated sugar to coat, enhancing the flavor and texture.

Notes

If gumdrops are too sticky after cooling, sprinkle more sugar on the sticky areas and store in a container with powdered sugar to prevent sticking.
