Ingredients
  

For the Cookie Dough

  • 1 cup all purpose flour (heat treated) Spread on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F for 5 minutes.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure it's soft for easy mixing.
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar Lightly packed for sweetness.
  • 1/4 cup white sugar To enhance the sweetness.
  • 2 tablespoons milk To help bind the mixture.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For added flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt To balance sweetness.
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips Folds in nicely with dough.

For Coating

  • 2 cups chocolate melting wafers OR chocolate chips Melted for coating the truffles.

Instructions
 

Prepare the Flour

  • Heat 1 cup of all purpose flour in the oven at 350°F for 5 minutes to make it safe to eat, then let it cool.

Make the Dough

  • In a large bowl, cream together 1/2 cup of softened unsalted butter with 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 1/4 cup of white sugar until creamy.
  • Add in 2 tablespoons of milk, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and mix well.
  • Gradually stir in the cooled flour until no dry lumps remain in the mixture.
  • Fold in 1 cup of mini chocolate chips.

Form the Truffles

  • Scoop out about 1 tablespoon of dough and roll it into a smooth ball.
  • Place the dough balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and chill in the freezer for 15-20 minutes.

Dip in Chocolate

  • Melt the chocolate melting wafers or chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 20 seconds until smooth.
  • Dip each chilled dough ball into the melted chocolate, letting excess drip off.
  • Return dipped truffles to the parchment paper and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes until the chocolate is set.

Notes

Store truffles in an airtight container in a cool, dry place or in the refrigerator. They can last in the fridge for about a week, or freeze for up to two months.
