  • 4 thighs Chicken thighs Use boneless for easier eating.
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs Panko can be used for a lighter finish.
  • 0.5 cup Grated Parmesan cheese To infuse the breadcrumbs.
  • 1 cup Marinara sauce Homemade or store-bought.
  • 1 cup Shredded mozzarella cheese For topping.
  • 1 each Egg Beaten until frothy.
  • Salt and pepper To taste.
  • Fresh basil For garnish, if desired.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs and 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the egg until frothy.
  • Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper.
  • Dip each chicken thigh into the egg, then roll in the breadcrumb mixture until well-coated.
  • Place the coated thighs in a baking dish.

Cooking

  • Pour 1 cup of marinara sauce over the chicken.
  • Top with 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and the chicken is cooked through.
  • Garnish with fresh basil before serving, if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Consider using skinless thighs or turkey cutlets for a lighter option.
