Preparation

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.
  • Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until translucent and fragrant.
  • Add ground beef or sausage, breaking it down as it cooks until browned and aromatic.
  • Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.

Cooking

  • Allow the sauce to simmer for about twenty minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.
  • Serve the rich meat sauce generously over the spaghetti.
  • Top with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
