  • 0.75 cups unsalted butter, softened Room temperature for better mixing
  • 1 cup brown sugar Packed
  • 0.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cups maple syrup Pure maple syrup preferred
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Mix-ins

  • 1 cup white chocolate chips Can substitute with dark chocolate

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon; set aside.

Mixing Wet Ingredients

  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the maple syrup, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Mixing Dry and Wet Ingredients

  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  • Fold in the white chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Allow to cool slightly before transferring them to a wire rack.
  • Optional: Drizzle with melted white chocolate and sprinkle with cinnamon before serving.

Notes

For perfectly chewy cookies, use room temperature butter, mix until just combined, and consider chilling the dough if it’s warm in your kitchen.
