  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 0.5 cup ranch dressing
  • 0.5 cup Buffalo hot sauce Adjust to taste; Frank’s Red Hot is a popular choice.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Some reserved for topping.
  • blue cheese crumbles Optional for added flavor.
  • green onions, thinly sliced For garnish.

Preparation

  • Drain and shred one can of canned chicken, and add to a mixing bowl.
  • Combine in the bowl with softened cream cheese, ranch dressing, and Buffalo hot sauce, adjusting spice level to preference.
  • Add shredded cheddar cheese, mixing well while reserving some for topping.
  • Optionally, stir in blue cheese crumbles and green onions for added flavor.

Baking

  • Transfer the mixture to a prepared baking dish.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 30 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
  • Once baked, garnish with reserved cheddar cheese and additional green onions before serving.

Notes

For a creamier dip, add more cream cheese or a splash of heavy cream. Adjust the heat by varying the hot sauce to your desired level. Prepare the dip a day ahead for richer flavor.
